What causes hair loss ?

Hair loss can be caused by many reasons: malnutrition, disease or environmental factors . The most common cause of hair loss is inheritance. Men and women inherit the gene for hair loss from either or both parents but men are most commonly affected by the inherited gene as the hormone, testosterone, activates the genetic program causing loss of hair follicles. The age of onset, extent, and rate of hair loss vary from person to person . Hair loss can also be caused by severe illness, vitamin or iron deficiency , thyroid diseases . Medications used for hormonal levels and for blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes can all cause hair loss.

What can be done about hair loss?

Using one of two types of medications can sometimes reduce hair loss. Ultimately, hair transplantation has proved to be the most successful solution.

Does a hair transplant really work ?

Yes. The transplanted hair is removed from the donor area and transferred to recipient area . The transferred tissue is not “rejected” as it is not foreign tissue. The transplanted hair maintains its own characteristics; color, texture, growth rate, and curl, after transplantation and during the process of re growth. So hair transplant surgery is a suitable solution if the loss is permanent . Excellent aesthetic results can be achieved.

Who can be a good candidate for hair transplant surgery ?

If the patient is 18 years and up who suffer from alopecia and also female patients can be a good candidate for hair transplant surgery .

How long does the procedure take ?

It takes nearly 6 or 7 hours depending on the operation plan .

Is hair transplant operation done under general or local anesthesia ?

Hair transplant surgery is performed under local anesthesia.

Is FUE hair transplantation painful ?

Mild discomfort may occur as a local anesthetic is injected into the scalp. When the skin is properly anesthetized , there is no pain during operation. After the FUE surgery ,patients will typically feel some minor discomfort which is described as minimal and numbness may dure a few days . But the pain and discomfort will go out with medications .

How long should I wait between two hair transplant operations ?

Patient should wait minimum 6 month for second procedure .

Should I cut or shave my hair before operation ?

It is not recommended to shave your hair before having a procedure cause the experts would want to see your current hair condition .

Should I stop taking Minoxidil or Finasteride before hair transplant ?

No problem . You can take them before operation . But after surgery we do not suggest you to take them .

Is hair restoration surgery safe ?

All hair restorations are comparatively safe when done under local anesthesia. FUE procedure is also performed under local anesthetic and is considered less risky and invasive . Hair restoration surgery does not require intra-muscular sedation .

When can I back to work ?

It is often possible to go back to work within 2 days after the procedure .

How many grafts will I need ?

It depends on your degree of hair loss and desired density in your donor site .

Will it really look natural ?

Yes surely it will look natural . At first it will be slightly curly, but, if the donor hair was originally straight, it will quickly become straight again.

When will my head completely heal after the hair transplant ?

Your recovery time will be quick cause FUE hair transplant is minimally invasive operation . There might be only small scabs on transplanted area and small red holes at donor area . 15 days after the operation donor and transplanted area’s aspect will become normal .

When will my newly transplanted hair start to grow ?

Normally it takes between 3 to 5 months for transplanted hair follicles begin to grow new hair. After 6 months hairs will grow more quick and the hair follicles continue to grow until 1 year .

Is the implanted hair permanent ?

Implanted hair stays alive and regularly grows . The transplanted hair never fall out in lifetime .

What is shock loss after surgery ?

The meaning of this term is the loss of pre-existing or transplanted hair due to the trauma of a surgical procedure . Loss of some of the newly transplanted hair grafts is fairly common and perfectly normal . When shock loss happens , you should stay calm cause hairs will grow again .

Why do some hair transplants look so unnatural ?

If you see hair transplant that does not look natural , it is simply because it is a bad hair transplant. Hair transplant surgery must be performed by the experts. What is FUE and FUT ?

Fut (Follicular Unit Transplant ) process involves removing a small strip of tissue from the back of the head and the individual follicular units are removed from that strip via stereo-microscopic dissection. But in this method there will be linear scar at donor area and currently patients do not prefer to do this method in hair transplant .
FUE ( Follicular Unit Extraction ) is the latest method preferred by most patients. In this method grafts are extracted from the donor area individually and there will be no linear scar at donor area after the procedure .
